How to make more progress while practicing guitar

Do you want to know how to get maximum results from your guitar practice routine? Lots of us have a small amount of time available to practice guitar. If we don’t know how to maximize results from our current guitar practice routine, we end up making small progress over the time. This can also result in frustration and a lower rate of progress. Many guitarists never feel satisfied with the rate of their musical progress and fail to become the guitarist they ever dreamed of. If you want to get more from your guitar practice routine, here are few things you should do every time you pick up your guitar for practicing.
Always practice with a positive mindset
Every time you practice your guitar, think about this time as a process of solving your guitar playing problems. Well, it is obvious that practicing is for solving your guitar playing problems, but a lot of guitarists do not have this mindset. They think of practicing guitar as a boring process which does not let them have the enjoyment of playing music. This results in practicing exercises mindlessly. They jump from one exercise to another for the sake of just finishing it. DO NOT let this happen to YOU.
Know why you are practicing
Do not practice things that do not help you accomplish your long-term guitar playing goal. Before practicing any item, you should have the answer to this question “How this practice item is helping me become a better guitarist?” If you do not know, then ask someone who know. Make clear achievable goals
While you have your long term goals about guitar playing but make small goals before starting to practice your guitar. Write down what you want to achieve with this practice session. Whether you achieve these goals or not but having a clear idea of what you want to achieve with every practice session will help you improve your guitar playing MUCH faster than practicing guitar at random and merely "hoping" that some progress is being made.
Practice in chunks
A correct guitar practice is an intense mental exercise. To get maximum results from your practice routine take short but regular breaks in between working on different practice items. An hour of practicing guitar done with short (2-3) minute breaks between each practice item can be more productive than practicing straight 3 hours. So push the break button and take a rest.
Concentrate while you practice
Have your mind along with your fingers on your guitar. This will help you achieve your goals much faster. DO NOT watch TV or some other activity while having a serious practice session. Concentrate fully on the item that you are practicing. Well, you can practice some items while watching TV, but this should not be done in between your practice routine. “Practicing your guitar while watching TV” should be done in extra time. You can practice guitar while watching TV but you cannot watch TV while practicing. Understand the difference.
